GOP Governors Plot Strategy in Florida
As GOP governors meet in Florida this week the most pressing issue is how they get the Republican Party back on its feet. The rebuilding needs to begin now. At the same time Michael Steele, a former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, is poised to run for the chairmanship of the RNC. He is an excellent choice for this position and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. These are good starts and steps in the right direction. Additionally there needs to be an internet grassroots groundswell and you would have the makings for a Republican recovery. It’s going to be tough with an entrenched Democratic majority but the next elections are only two years away. Democrats will be after the remaining seats still held by Republicans. Strong GOP leadership and guidance is going to be required to defibrillate the heart of the Republican Party and make considerable gains in the 2010 elections.
