Franken Surges in Minnesota
Minnesota is proving yet again that 2008 is anything but politics as usual. After electing pro-wrestler Jesse ‘the Body’ Ventura several years ago to be their political steward as governor, early polls indicate the voice of the liberal left and Air America talk show host Al Franken is pulling ahead of Republican incumbent Senator Norm Coleman in the hotly contested contest for his seat.
The Republican Party has seen a drop in favorability with voters since the September economic slump. Candidates running on the GOP ticket from town selectmen to President have seen the polls sway to the left and are vying to convince voters a turn-around will occur.
This latest poll out of the Land of 10,000 Lakes has proven that in a year where even Mickey Mouse is registered to vote, thanks to leftist groups such as ACORN, the GOP must fight extra hard for legitimate votes to gain victory on November 4th.
A new AP poll finds Democratic candidate Barack Obama and Republican candidate John McCain in a dead heat.
