In God We Trust
While our Founding Fathers recognized the importance of separation of church and state the foundation of this country was based on their Christian beliefs. Therefore this separation allows acceptance of all faiths. But God was woven into the fabric of this country’s evolution with many prominent Americans referring to Christianity.
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible.”
~George Washington
“God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.”
~Thomas Jefferson
“We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government… according to the Ten Commandments of God.”
~James Madison
“The Bible carries with it the history of the creation, the fall and redemption of man, and discloses to him, in the infant born at Bethlehem, the legistlator and savior of the world.”
~John Quincy Adams
“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good of the Savior of the world is communicated to us through the Book.”
~Abraham Lincoln
“There is no national security but in the nation’s humble, acknowledged dependence upon God.”
~President Franklin Pierce
“America… Cherishes no purpose save to merit the favor of Almighty God.”
~President Calvin Coolidge
“Of the many influences that have shaped the United States into a distinctive nation and people, none may be said to be more fundamental and enduring than the Bible.”
~Ronald Reagan
“The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state.”
~Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
“One of the great strengths of the United States is we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation; we consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”
~Barack Hussein Obama – In a speech during the Turkey Leg of The 2009 European Patronizing and Apologetic Tour
Will the President feel the need to repeat this statement from now on during every overseas visit only inserting the predominant religion of that particular country for the sake of appeasement?

I thought I was voting for a strong christian. The fact that he is not holding prayer day, that he says we are not a christian nation (that the foundation of this country was built under christian beliefs) is just dishearting.
Amen.
