Chicago’s Olympic Flame Extinguished

The Earl of eloquence, the silver-tongued slickster, the titan of teleprompters, and the prince of persuassion could not pull off a bid to have the 2016 Olympics hosted in his hometown of Chicago. Where is the love? Hasn’t Barack Obama been touted as the World’s President? This should have been a shoo-in. With Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey making personal appearances what could have gone wrong? How could the International Olympic Committee reject a plea from these world renowned, larger than life, public figures. Whatever the reason they did in fact reject Chicago and Rio De Janeiro was the big winner.
While some may have been surprised by the IOC’s choice there was certainly no surprise when once again the President did not miss an overseas opportunity to denigrate the past administration and boost his own narcisstic ego.

Can we now assume that this is apparently going to be the Obama theme on all future overseas trips? Less than a year in office and this mantra is wearing thin. The estimated cost for this failed trip to Copenhagen was $1 million. On the plus side, Chicago and America saved billions on having to host this event.
Barack Obama is on his own with this defeat. This is one loss he cannot pass on to George Bush.

I totally agree. But even though it will be totally wrong for Obama to push this on Bush, I know that it will undoubtedly be tried. After all, they are already trying to make a conspiracy on this refusal to let the olympics be in chicago……..all I can say….What a bunch of buffoons we have in Washington.

He was just trying to please Michelle Obama. She’s gonna wear more pants than Hillary Clinton did when Billary was in the White House.
Of course they’ll try to hang it on Dubya. They’ll claim that they couldn’t overcome the bad effects of 8 years in only a few months.
Barry will be blaming Dubya and conservatives for every failure, every setback, well beyond Barry’s narcissict presidency. That is the leftist credo. Nothing is their fault. Nothing.
