Rogue AG To Dig Up The Past

In a decision that could come within weeks U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is considering the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate interrogation practices that occurred during the administration of former President George W. Bush.

Is this another example of leadership inexperience indicating Obama has lost control over the people that he nominated? Or is this just another well orchestrated ruse to take the focus off of the up and coming bills that will be swept through Congress and plunge the country into further exorbitant debt?

“We need to look forward as opposed to looking backwards.”
~Barack Obama, January 2009 – when asked about the idea of a broad inquiry into Bush administration programs

That statement did not exactly indicate there would be no investigation.

“I hope that whatever decision I make would not have a negative impact on the president’s agenda. But that can’t be a part of my decision.”
~Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.

Either the President will give him his marching orders or the Attorney General will do as he pleases.

“The question is: Do we want America’s image harmed more by dragging this out further and further?”

“We don’t want to give the terrorists and the radical Islamic extremists more tools and bullets to shoot against us and help their recruiting in this ongoing struggle we’re in.”
~Senator John McCain of Arizona, June 12, 2009 on “Meet the Press”

Senator, there are some in this country that do in fact want to give Islamic extremists the upper hand.

“It’s a wrong and shameful criminalizing political differences.”

“I would find it very hard to work with the administration on bipartisan issues if the attorney general and the administration start going after patriotic Americans who have dedicated their lives to protecting us.”
~Rep. Peter T. King, New York Republican

Rep. King has called for his party to pursue a “scorched-earth policy” of refusing to cooperate with the administration if it pursues such an investigation. Here’s a representative that does not hold up a wet finger to see which way the political polls are blowing.

Will this be the new trend for future Presidential Administrations? They condemn past policies and dredge up special prosecuters to investigate these former policies sending the country into a divisive tailspin. If so, let’s start compiling a list of questionable actions of Barack Obama. That way the next GOP Administration’s Attorney General can have a jump-start on being tied up and bogged down with continuing the policy of chasing ghosts of the past.
