Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?
It’s been a week now and we’ve all had a chance for John McCain’s Vice Presidential pick to sink in. How many people googled Sarah Palin after the announcement was made? OK, I did. She is definitely a Washington outsider. Isn’t that what people wanted? She is mainstream America, like it or not. Just recently she stated she did not know what the Vice President did on a daily basis. Is that really a bad thing? How many people know what the Vice President does? Isn’t it to support and assist with the President’s agenda? That being the case the President has just sent his Vice President to represent the United States at a state dinner in some foreign country. Now on the one hand you have vivacious, exciting and charismatic Sarah Palin going up against this head of state. She would draw them in to an undertow of charm and wit then overwhelm them with a subtle rip current of tenacious persuassion. On the other hand you have languid Joe Biden, this 36-year stuffy, stale Washington politician bellying up to the table with the same old dry rhetoric. Now I ask you, which Vice President is this head of state going to want as a dinner guest? At this time we can only guess who’s coming to dinner.
