Sunday Morning Pep Rally
On Sunday the President held a pep rally for the Democratic caucus. Obama’s sidekick, Joe Biden, also attended. This meeting was for a select few to push their latest round of government control disguised as health care reform. So much for transparency and bipartisonship.
“Ten, 20, 30, 40 years from now, people are going to look back on what this Congress did.”
~Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)
Not only will people look back but they will still be paying for what Congress did.
“We’ve got to get this done to demonstrate that we can get something this substantial done, even in a difficult economy and in a difficult political environment.”
~Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr. (Pa.)
Get this done just to prove they can get something done. That’s not a comforting thought.
The big push is to get this oppressive, behemoth, 2,000-plus page bill passed before the end of the year. What’s the hurry if it’s not right, if it hasn’t been read, if the loopholes have not been closed?
Obama would have everyone believe that the Senate is close to reaching a deal and passing this bill. That’s not the case or he would not have had to gather the Democratic faithful together and give them a Presidential scolding during an unscheduled trip to Congress on a Sunday. This is a bill that Obama expected to be passed last August and his growing angst is showing.
The contentious obstacles in this bill could spell doom for its passage. That would be good news for the majority of Americans that oppose this government controlled program.
