It would appear that any time more Americans potentially become dependent on the government, no matter how many or how few, this is good news for Harry and his gang.

~Senator Harry Reid

Obviously there are 36,000 people who don’t agree with Harry Reid. Add to that the millions that have already lost their jobs and you have another Washington politician completely out of touch with working America. Let’s go further and also add to that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office’s latest analysis that projects $9.7 trillion will be added to the national debt over the next decade under Obama’s proposed budget.

Really good indeed.

Barack Obama put VP Joe Biden in charge of the stimulus that would create untold millions of jobs because nobody messes with Joe. Well, say it ain’t so Joe. Where’s the jobs?

That scraping noise that you hear must be the sound of Obama bumper stickers being removed from the vehicles of Obama voters.

Fast forward to November 2010. I wonder if Harry Reid will exclaim, “It’s really good” on election day.

Just when things were cooling off Al Gore emerges to heat things back up with a resurrection of his global warming postulation. Yes, the same Nobel Peace prize winning Al Gore and star of the Academy Award winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Evidently Gore felt an urge to step out from behind the snowbanks and defend his scientific stance against the hordes of disbelievers. His latest defense appeared as an op-ed in the New York Times. Its title was “We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change.” Unfortunately it appears that we can’t wish away Al Gore.

After several months of snow and cold Gore must have heard the cries of his faithful followers coaxing him to say something, anything in the face of overwhelming skeptics in a sea of ridicule. So he obliged his AGW disciples with an op-ed rant.

We would no longer have to worry that our grandchildren would one day look back on us as a criminal generation that had selfishly and blithely ignored clear warnings that their fate was in our hands.
~Gore op-ed excerpt

Rest assured Al that I will not be worrying, but then I don’t live in a mansion or jet-set around the world spreading fear and speculation while leaving a large carbon footprint.

The heavy snowfalls this month have been used as fodder for ridicule by those who argue that global warming is a myth, yet scientists have long pointed out that warmer global temperatures have been increasing the rate of evaporation from the oceans, putting significantly more moisture into the atmosphere — thus causing heavier downfalls of both rain and snow in particular regions, including the Northeastern United States.
~Gore op-ed excerpt

Wouldn’t warmer temperatures have this increased precipitation falling as rain and not snow? In fact every state in the continental U.S. has received siginificant snow this winter including the Deep South.

Because the world still relies on leadership from the United States, the failure by the Senate to pass legislation intended to cap American emissions before the Copenhagen meeting guaranteed that the outcome would fall far short of even the minimum needed to build momentum toward a meaningful solution.

The pathway to success is still open, though it tracks the outer boundary of what we are capable of doing. It begins with a choice by the United States to pass a law establishing a cost for global warming pollution. The House of Representatives has already passed legislation, with some Republican support, to take the first halting steps for pricing greenhouse gas emissions.

I hope that it will place a true cap on carbon emissions and stimulate the rapid development of low-carbon sources of energy.
~Gore op-ed excerpt

There you have the crux of the op-ed message. This is a call to arms for the hoodwinked masses to push for cap and trade legislation.

Al Gore is in crisis mode and attempting to salvage his global warming, climate changing empire. There is money to be made from this present day “gold rush” and prospector Al is going to be first in line to stake his claim on the green technology Mother Lode. That is “an inconvenient truth”.

Senator Harry Reid continues to display his pompous, arrogance when it comes to ramming through a health care bill that most Americans don’t want. Reid confessed he is willing to use reconciliation in order to pass this bill. Reconcilliation would allow the bill to be passed with 51 votes instead of the 60 needed in order to prevent a filibuster.

“They should stop crying about reconciliation as if it’s never been done before.”
~Senaror Harry Reid admonishing Republicans

Isn’t he really addressing all Americans when he states stop your crying and take your medicine. He just doesn’t get it. The people are in charge of you Harry, not the other way around. It is the majority of the people that do not want this bill passed. What this health care bill comes down to is passing a controversial bill and sticking a condescending political finger in the eye of the people.

The President’s latest incarnation of health care reform puts the expense on the backs of each and every state. It will eventually leave no choice but to have the states raise their taxes in order to support this proposed health care bill.

Read the President’s Proposal.

So much for not raising taxes on middle-class income families.

If health care reform was so universally acceptable and good for America as claimed by the Democrats then why was the bill not passed by now? They did have the majority to easily do this without a filibuster.

Our country does not base its greatness on the size of its welfare state nor the handouts and political favors doled out
from self-righteous politicians. Our greatness is founded on the liberty and freedom of the people to make their own choices and when that is stifled we rise up and take back control. The intoxicating power of political office can quickly be sobered by the power of the vote.

Let’s see if Harry Reid and his multitude of cohorts and cronies are the ones crying when they lose their political seats in November elections.

An ongoing major military offensive in Afghanistan, the Olympics in Vancouver, the plight of Haitians after the earthquake, Iranian nuclear proliferation all take a back seat to the big news event today - a statement from Tiger Woods.

Now here is poor Tiger emerging from sex addiction rehab to make a public apology and the main stream news media is having a collective orgy. It has been the lead story and reported in a fevered pant on evening news broadcasts as well as morning news programs all week long. I ask you, is that fair? It’s kind of like giving booze to an alcoholic. This man is struggling with infidelity and the news journalists are having an anticipatory orgasm over his impending statement to the world.

Tiger owes me no apologies. What Tiger did or didn’t do does not affect my life in any way. Most of America as well as the world will not be changed because of Tiger’s promiscuity or his apology today. In fact, I’m a firm believer that it is nobody’s business outside of his family. They are the ones that will be affected and have to deal with it in their own way.

There’s no doubt we can expect to be bludgeoned with nonstop commentary in which Tiger’s every word will be picked over and analyzed. What really needs to happen is after Tiger’s catharsis today the news media should take a collective cold shower and then get back to the news that does affect us all.

It bears repeating. Where is Al Gore and his global warming? Your nation’s capitol needs you. While Washington gets pounded with snowstorm after snowstorm Al and his global warming schtick are once again missing in action. Maybe he’s holed up in a snow cave planning his next GW moment.

Would it be a good time for Al Gore to host a global warming seminar in Washington, DC? I think not. Right about now if Al were to raise his global warming scam in Washington he would be snowballed out of town.

Maybe it will keep snowing in Washington until Al Gore admits he is wrong and has been perpetrating a global warming hoax on the world. After all, who is this Al Gore anyway? Well, he’s someone who has made a lot of money off this flimflam and is reportedly positioning himself to make a lot more.

I would predict that Al Gore’s next global warming summit will be held during a heat wave in July. It would add a realistic touch and help to bring more converts onto the GW train.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is steaming over a comment made by the President during a speech in Nashua, New Hampshire this week. It was the second time that Obama has used Las Vegas as a place not to spend your money.

“When times are tough, you tighten your belts. You don’t go buying a boat when you’re trying to pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save on college.”
~Barack Obama

Once again the President cut loose with his condescending, chastising rhetoric toward Americans and their spending habits speaking like some mac daddy scolding his ladies. The last thing we need is financial advice from any Washington politician. Their fiscal track record leaves a lot to be desired.

When the Mayor stated that, “this President is a slow learner” you could almost hear a collective gasp from the Obama faithful. How dare he make a disparaging remark about this President. Doesn’t he know that Barack Obama is off limits when it comes to criticism? One would expect the President’s posse to ride into this western town, namely Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, for a showdown at high noon with Mayor Goodman.

Even Senator Harry Reid took offense to the President’s remarks and jumped into the fray siding with the Mayor.

“The President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn’t be spending their money. I would much rather tourists and business travelers spend their money in Las Vegas than spend it overseas.”
~Senator Reid statement

When the President denounced corporations that used bailout money for trips to Las Vegas last year it equated to a loss of revenue reportedly in the millions of tourist dollars. Mayor Goodman is trying to prevent a repeat of last year’s losses.

Maybe Obama should have used Chicago as a place not to go to spend your money.

In the President’s State of the Union speech he mentioned repealing the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy regarding gay members serving in the armed forces.

Once again the military must bear the brunt of a politically correct whim in social experimentation. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mullen testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on the opening salvo of this debate.

Those that make the rules will never be personally affected in their lifetime by a repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. That includes senior military leadership that agree as “yes men” to go along with this repeal. There has always been a disconnect between high-ranking officers and the junior enlisted ranks or at the very least a perception of disconnect on the part of these younger service members who are always on the receiving end of higher echelon decisions. Openly gay troops add one more dimension and challenge to unit morale.

Both Secretary Gates and Admiral Mullen agreed that it will take input and feedback from all service members past and present to be brought into this debate. It is therefore vital that current service members as well as former service members be included in any discussion or review that moves the process forward in repealing this policy. Those that have never served, including those members of congress that have no military background, have absolutlely no legitimate or credible perspective and would provide nothing more than baseless, unsubstantiated opinions. Those non-service members need to refrain from providing input on this subject. Quite simply, they have nothing to offer in the way of expertise on this matter.

The military is once again navigating unchartered territory. They don’t know the full ramifications of repealing this ban. But, as always, our Armed Forces will accept their marching orders and move on.

In an apparent reversal the Obama administration is rethinking its decision to try five 9/11 terror suspects in Manhattan. It seems the President and Attorney General take a little longer to catch on than most folks.

New Yorkers can probably agree that there are better uses for one billion dollars, the estimated price tag to hold the trials in New York City. Let’s not forget the security hassles and media circus that local residents would have to endure throughout the entire trial process.

“It would be an inconvenience at the least, and probably that’s too mild a word for people that live in the neighborhood and businesses in the neighborhood. There are places that would be less expensive for the taxpayers and less disruptive for New York City.”
New York City Mayor Bloomberg

Yes Mayor, it’s called Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. It is the ideal location for the trials of these terror suspects. The benefits include less expensive and no disruption to any community in America. There would be no protests, no security risks, virtually no chance of escape, no chance of local terrorist reprisals and no danger or inconvenience to American citizens.

“Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to meet justice and he’s going to meet his maker. He’s likely to be executed for the heinous crimes he committed.”
~White House spokesman Robert Gibbs on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning

Well, there you have it. The Obama administration has already passed judgement and rendered sentencing. Why move the trials to Manhattan if we already know the outcome?

The risk is too great to hold these trials in New York City as compared to minimal or no risk at Guantanamo Bay. Now what does it take to convince the White House administration that this is the appropriate place? What is this continual, prevalent political mindset that puts personal agenda before the will of the people and common sense?

New Yorkers have already borne their share of the burden. Placing these trials in the heart of Manhattan adds insult to injury. The only decent and compassionate course of action is to keep these trials at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Never thought the day would come when I would be thanking Massachusetts. It was a shocking defeat for Martha Coakley when Scott Brown won the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Ted Kennedy. The Republican victory ushers in a new era in American politics. This should be a wake-up call for both Democrats and Republicans. No longer are the citizens of this country going to sit idly by while arrogant, condescending politicians declare that they know what is best for free-thinking, freedom-loving Americans.

The liberal mindset currently in Washington is to ignore the majority and appease the few. The message should be loud and clear on both sides of the aisle, “ignore the will of the people and your pompous, political posterior will be ousted from office.”

There is another lesson to be learned from this election. Negative ad campaigning does not work. The majority of Americans are repulsed by this campaign method. We want to know where a candidate stands on the issues, period. If you have nothing more to contribute to your campaign than the contrived faults of a rival candidate then you have nothing to contribute.

Scott Brown will be filling the people’s seat. The new freshman Senator comes to Washington with a clean slate. He has not been tainted by previous administrations or corrupt politics. He has the opportunity to provide a new concept in American politics and that is to represent the people’s best interest.

Who would have thought that it would take Ted Kennedy’s unfortunate death to save America?

There is an election this week that the entire nation will be watching. Massachusetts will be voting for a Senator to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Ted Kennedy. The Republican candidate is state Senator Scott Brown and the Democratic candidate is Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley.

This will be a vote for the people or a vote for another Pelosi puppet. Nancy Pelosi would just love to add another puppet to her collection. What really gripes Democrats is their inability to tie Scott Brown to former President George Bush. That dog will no longer hunt and liberals will have to find another reason to denigrate Republican opponents. Maybe that is why Obama criticized Scott Brown’s pick-up truck during his trip to Massachusetts on Sunday.

The President’s visit to Massachusetts represents a failure on his part. If the people of this state were so enamored with the first year of Obama then naturally the Democratic candidate would not have required his presence and words of “support”. Has Barack Obama become a liability for Democratic candidates?

It has become painfully apparent that a balance of political power is essential. It is not in the nation’s best interest to have one political party hold power over another. A one party majority holds American citizens hostage to that party’s whim in the name of an assumed mandate.

America will be anxiously waiting for the results from this election. Will we be set free or will the liberal oppression continue?
