The Shroud of VEEP

Why is it that the Vice Presidential pick is concealed in more secrecy than the nuclear briefcase? The news media was in such a fever pitch leading up to the announcement of Senator Barack Hussein Obama’s choice for VP that it had more intensity than a shark feeding frenzy. All day long CNN’s Wolf Blitzer (wolf as in rabid) repeatedly proclaimed in a frothy dribble, “This is an exciting day!” While many journalists were basking in bliss with the naming of Senator Joe Biden as Obama’s running mate there were some that were down-right frustrated. How would you like to have been the one that stood outside the wrong house all night? And how did some know they needed to stand outside Joe’s house? Was there a leak in the shroud of secrecy? It all leads one to wonder if Senator John McCain’s VP announcement will generate the same unabashed media enthusiasm or did they use it all up today?
